2011 Manatee & Sea Turtle Decal Campaign

During the month of July, our office participates in the Annual Voluntary Contribution Campaign for the sale of “Save the Manatees” and “Save the Sea Turtles” decals. These campaigns began in 1992 to help raise funds to support the rescue and rehabilitation of sick and injured animals, educational materials and protection programs around the state.

Decals are available at the Crystal River and Inverness Tax Collector offices. You can also order previous years’ decals and collect the entire set. With a donation of $5 or more, you will receive your choice of one of the waterproof decals to place on your boat, vehicle, or wherever you want to show your support for manatees and/or sea turtles.

Our office also spotlights the “Save the Manatee” and “Helping Sea Turtles Survive” specialty license plates. The additional charge for each plate is distributed to special funds designated to help the manatees and sea turtles. For more information about these plates, click here.

During the past years’ campaigns, on behalf of our citizens’ generosity, our office has contributed over $14,000 to the programs and has led the way in statewide decal sales. This reflects the appreciation and support for our environment in Citrus County and we thank you for caring enough to preserve the beauty and nature of the Nature Coast. For just a few dollars more we can all make a significant difference. We ask for your continued support.
