Commission by being the primary source for the sale and
issuance of a variety of hunting and fishing licenses Hunting and fishing licenses may also be purchased or renewed by telephone for an additional fee. Please call 1-800-347-4356 for fishing or 1-800-486-8356 for hunting. A valid hunting and/or fishing license must be carried on his or her person when participating in these activities (unless exempt). Hunting LicensesNOTE: Persons born on or after June 1, 1975 cannot purchase a hunting license unless they show proof of successful completion of a hunter education safety course. You may contact the local Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission office at 386-758-0525 for class times. Hunting Licenses are annual permits that expire 12 months from the beginning date of license: Non-residents can purchase a short term license
Fishing LicensesAnnual Fishing Licenses and permits expire 12 months from the begin date.
Lifetime or 5 year Hunting and Fishing LicenseLifetime and 5 year Hunting and Fishing licenses are available to Florida residents only. For children under 12 the parent must have the child's social security number, original birth certificate, and parent's driver license to get a lifetime license. THERE ARE NEW 5 YEAR PERMITS NOW AVAILABLE.There are now 5 year permits that you can purchase along with the 5 year license:
Lifetime Freshwater Fishing
Lifetime Saltwater Fishing with Crawfish and Snook permits
Lifetime Hunting with management area, muzzleloading gun, archery, turkey and waterfowl permits
Lifetime Sportsman, which includes hunting, fresh and saltwater fishing, management, archery, muzzleloading gun, turkey, waterfowl, Crawfish and Snook stamps.
Senior Citizen Hunting and Fishing LicenseSenior citizen hunting and fishing licenses do not include the Federal Duck Stamp. Residents of the State of Florida age 65 or older are required to carry proof of their age and residency, such as a driver’s license. Disabled Person Hunting and Fishing LicenseA disabled person who is a resident of the State of Florida may obtain an application for a resident disability hunting and fishing license from the Tax Collector's office. To qualify for a resident disability hunting and fishing license, a disabled person must present proof of residency which is either a Florida Drivers License (ID card is not acceptable), Florida Homestead Exemption, Statement from current landlord or Florida Voter's Registration AND Florida Motor Vehicle Registration. A resident disability hunting and fishing license authorizes the holder to take or attempt to take or possess freshwater fish, marine fish and game consistent with State and Federal regulations. Holders of a disability license are exempt from permit requirements, including the no-cost migratory bird permit and from making application for most quota hunt permits to hunt on a wildlife management area. A disability license does not allow the holder those privileges found in the commercial fishing license, commercial or state trapping license, antler less deer permits or the federal waterfowl stamp. A disabled person wishing to participate in these activities must also acquire the required permits for each of these activities. All disability licenses issued prior to July 1, 1997, became invalid July 1, 2000. Disability licenses are invalid when the holder moves out of the State of Florida. ExemptionsFRESHWATER EXEMPTIONS Anglers are required to carry a valid fishing license while taking or attempting to take freshwater fish except as specifically exempted below: · Any child under 16 years of age · Any resident 65 years of age or older · Any person fishing in their county of residence on their homestead or the homestead of their spouse or minor child. · Any minor child fishing on the homestead of their parent · Any resident who is a member of the Armed Forces of the United States, who is not stationed in this state, while home on leave for 30 days or less, upon submission of orders. This does not include family members. · Any resident fishing with live or natural bait, using poles or lines which are not equipped with a fishing line retrieval mechanism, and fishing for noncommercial purposes in the county of their residence, except on legally established fish management areas. · Any person fishing in a fishpond of 20 acres or less which is located entirely within the private property of the fishpond owner. A fishpond is defined as a body of water that does not occur naturally and that has been constructed and is maintained primarily for the purpose of fishing. · Any person fishing in a private fishpond that is licensed in accordance with s. 372.5705. A private pond is a manmade pond constructed for the primary purpose of fishing, entirely within the property lines of the owner and with no surface water connection to public waters. · Any person who has been accepted as a client for developmental services by the Department of Health and Rehabilitative Services, which department shall furnish such person proof thereof. · Members of the Seminole Tribe and the Miccosukee Tribe taking fish on their respective reservations for the purpose of food for the Indians themselves. · Members of the Miccosukee Tribe taking fish for subsistence purposes and frogs for personal consumption as food or for commercial purposes within their reservation and the area leased to the Miccosukee Tribe. SALTWATER EXEMPTIONS · Any child under 16 years of age · Any resident 65 years of age or older · Any resident who is a member of the Armed Forces of the United States, who is not stationed in this state, while home on leave for 30 days or less, upon submission of orders. This does not include family members. · Any person who has been accepted as a client for developmental services by HRS (Florida Department of Health and Rehabilitative Services) or any licensed provider of services through contract with HRS, where such service involves the need, normally, for possession of a saltwater fishing license and such service is provided as part of a court-decided rehabilitation program involving training in Florida’s aquatic resources. · Any resident fishing in saltwater from land or from a structure fixed to the land · Any person fishing from a pier, which has a valid Pier License for saltwater fishing. · Any person fishing from a vessel that has a valid Saltwater Vessel License · Any person who holds a valid commercial Saltwater Products License. Only one person aboard a vessel fishing under that vessel’s Saltwater Products License may claim the exemption any given time. · Any resident who is fishing for mullet in freshwater and has a valid Florida Freshwater Fishing License. · Any resident fishing for a saltwater species in freshwater from land or from a structure fixed to the land. |
