New Vessel Title
To register a new vessel, never before titled, you must bring the following to any Tax Collector's office:
A manufacturer's Statement of Origin properly completed and signed, (notarization may be required) by the selling dealer/store.
A copy of the executed bill of sale or dealer's invoice listing the vessel purchase price, sales tax paid and any trade-in allowance. Additional taxes equivalent to Florida's sales tax and local sales tax may be due.
If recording a lien, the lien holders name, address and the date of lien are required.
Each applicant, or their appointed power of attorney (documents required) must sign a new application for title. If you are the appointed power of attorney, the original or a certified copy of the original signed appointment must be presented at time of application.
The applicant's date of birth and Florida driver license number are recorded as part of the application. If registered in a company name, the Federal Employer Identification Number (FEIN) must be recorded.
Basic title fees of $5.75 are charged and if a lien is to be recorded add an additional fee of $1.00. This is in addition to registration fees due upon application.
